Pennies for Patients

Communities in Schools will be organizing the Pennies for Patients fundraiser.  This effort is designed to raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS)--the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services. Pennies for Patients was created with the purpose of allowing students see firsthand how the involvement can make a difference in helping save the lives of blood cancer patients simply by fundraising.

Last year Lambs Elementary raised over 806 pounds, equivalent to over $1,635.54! This year lets all come together again to raise money for this wonderful cause. Our goal is to raise 1000 pounds, with each $1 equaling 1 lb. For example, $5 donation equals 5 lbs towards the goal.

Someone will come by each class on Thursday of each week to collect the money that has been raised by the students. Every Thursday during lunch the total amount raised will be put on display by class on stage to allow the whole student body to see the progress that's being made and to keep track of who is raising the most.

Anyone who is interested in making a donation can also make a contribution directly to the school by utilizing this link:

Money will be collected from Feb. 1st- 28th. At the end of the collection period, the top 3 classes will receive a prize. Also, the top class for each week will also receive a prize on Fridays.

1st: Class Pizza party

2nd: Ice cream party
